What's it for?

This ‘Phase 2’ phonics practise activity set has been designed practise sounding out and writing simple words using Phase 2 sounds s a t p i n and 'e'. This set is the first of four sets and all have been designed to be shared with learners in the order that 'new' sounds are introduced to learners.

Who’s it for?

This resource has been designed for Early Years children and pupils in Year 1 who are just learning these sounds for the first time or who need some practise/reinforcement of these sounds. This resource is also ideal for older pupils with additional learning needs who need to revisit these sounds.

How to use it?

An adult cuts along the dotted lines and places the set of x6 word cards on a table top. Learners look at an image on the left, sound it out and write the graphemes for each word on the lines (on the right). A visual answer sheet is included which learners can use themselves to encourage autonomy.
