What’s it for?

This activity set has been designed to practise and reinforce Phase 2 sounds f ff l ll ss. Learners recognise letter (grapheme) cards and match these with the corresponding pictures, into pairs.

Designed to be simple and predictable, these matching cards are ideal for individuals or groups to work on by themselves, or for an adult to use when providing extra support.

Who’s it for?

This resource has been designed for Early Years children who are just learning these sounds for the first time, pupils in Year 1 who need some practise/reinforcement of these sounds. This resource is also ideal for older learners with additional learning needs who need to revisit these sounds.

This is set 4 (of 4), focusing on the last five Phase 2 sounds - f, ff, l, ll, ss, Phase 2 sounds have been grouped into four (coloured) groups to avoid learners becoming overwhelmed and making it easier to target individual sound practise as needed. All four sets are available, separately or as a complete set.

Answers

Grapheme/picture answers are included in a clear format, enabling learners to check their own matches and work independently.
