Resource Details

Two pages include instructions on how to make a rabbit face into a ‘posting box’ with clear photos supporting each step.

Dotted guide lines show where to cut. There are also two ‘slits’ which need making and a hole to be cut (inside the rabbits mouth) - these may be best made using a craft knife (used well away from little people!) This resource is designed for an adult to make ‘for’ learners to use.

The photo shows how this resource looks which complete. The idea is that learners move the capital letter alphabet strip left/right to show a different capital letter. They then ‘post’ the matching lowercase alphabet letter (carrot!) into the rabbit’s mouth. This is an ideal activity to keep learners busy and independent.

I have included two versions of the letter ‘k’ as some learners may be more used to the look of one style than the other. There is also a ‘blank’ carrot included in case one gets lost.

• Instructions: Two pages featuring step-by-step guidance and clear photographs on how to transform a tissue box into a rabbit posting box.

• Preparation: Dotted guidelines indicate cutting points including two slits for a mouth opening. Assembly should be completed by an adult using a craft knife, kept well away from learners.

• Activity: Learners slide the capital letter alphabet strip left or right to display a target letter, then post the matching lowercase carrot letter into the rabbit mouth for independent alphabet letter matching practice.
