This customisable tally sheet lets children record bird sightings in real time, whether they are watching through a window or exploring outdoors. By selecting and cutting out the eight most common birds unique to your home, school, or local park, learners can easily practice counting, tracking, and recording data as they spot them.

Once ready, simply pop your tally chart onto a clipboard! It is ideal for garden birdwatching, forest school sessions, local park walks, or quiet outdoor observations.

Page 1 (The Tally Chart)

• A clear grid with dedicated space on the left to attach up to eight different bird types. This chart features a wide central area for marking tallies, a clear total box on the right, and spaces for the learner's name, day of the week, and date.

Pages 2 & 3 (Bird name/image cards)

• Features 45 different UK bird species that commonly visit gardens, parks, and local neighbourhoods.

• Educational tip: Select and cut out the bird cards in advance 'for' your learners, or do it together as an engaging, hands-on part of the lesson.
