Resource details

The way the letters in this set are formed is more irregular than the other letter sets. These letters zig-zag (the letter ‘z’), start and stop in alternating directions (the letter ‘x’), twist and turn - letters ’s’ and ‘f’ (and start and stop) 'f', begin by writing in a reverse direction (the letter ‘e’).

The font used is Sassoon Infant Std for clear legibility and modelling of the correct letter formation.

Purple Set

Three dedicated practice sheets, grouped as follows:

  • s/f
  • x/z
  • z/e
Guidance & Support:
  • Features a clear starting dot and directional arrows (as are visible on the cover image) for correct motor pattern reinforcement.
  • Dotted letters provide clear tracing guidance.
  • All practice letters are correctly positioned on a baseline to model standard line placement.
  • Tracking: Dedicated spaces for the name and date facilitate long-term progress tracking and easy collation of completed work.
  • Format: Designed for writing straight onto the sheet.
