This resource is designed to specifically practise handwriting the lowercase letters s, f, x, z, e. It groups these letters based on their similar visual shape to help learners reinforce the correct formation and overcome common handwriting confusion.

This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support.

Resource details

The way the letters in this set are formed is more irregular than the other letter sets. These letters zig-zag (the letter ‘z’), start and stop in alternating directions (the letter ‘x’), twist and turn - letters ’s’ and ‘f’ (and start and stop) 'f', begin by writing in a reverse direction (the letter ‘e’).

The font used is Sassoon Infant Std for clear legibility and modelling of the correct letter formation.
