What's it for?

This resource is ideal for learners to develop a day to day understanding of data handling real world data and can be used in two main ways. To create an interactive monthly weather chart (by printing, laminating and adding Velcro/blue tac) or as an individual/group or class cut and stick chart which can be added to daily. Data collected over a month can be kept and used to compare the weather patterns between different months/seasons as well as transferred to a block graph/bar chart about identifying the different types of weather, month by month.

Who’s it for?

This resource has been designed for early years children, pupils in years one and two as well as older students needing additional learning support.

  • weather charts designed to be used as an interactive laminated resource AND as a cut and stick activity, you choose which option is best or use both!
  • weather symbols included for ten main types of weather including; sunny, sunny and cloudy, cloudy, rainy, hail, sleet, snow, windy, stormy, foggy with an additional (bonus!) 'rainbow spotted!' symbol which can also be added to the weather charts and become part of the overall data collected.
  • optional alternative weather symbols included for cloudy/stormy/windy and snowy.
  • two designs of a 'thermometer temperature check' for learners to identify 'how the weather feels' day to day (clip style pegs needed for these)
  • full instructions included on page 22 (left side) to keep and use as a recap/reference.
