This resource is designed to help young learners visualise the year ahead by identifying key cultural, seasonal, and national events month by month. Designed for learners from early years through to older students, this versatile resource is ideal for both classroom and home use.

How to use this resource?

Print out the sheets needed. Cut along dotted lines to separate images. Add images to any calendar/this resource: Weekly Planner Activity Organiser Months of Year Annual Set to identify when the different events take place across the year.

Outline colours guide which month images belong to with the exception of 'grey' outlines which indicates the month of these events is not fixed, but varies year to year. To mark/celebrate individual birthdays, 'birthday (cake) images' are included matching each month of the year as well as a broader range of 'birthday image' colours (page 4).

This resource has been designed to use year after year, time and time again.

Two images per event/celebration

Most celebrations come with a choice of two images. A more detailed 'scene' version showing the celebration in context, as well as a simplified 'icon' version for a more symbolic look. This allows you to choose the format that best suits your planning layout and the needs of your learners. Simply pick whichever style works best for your weekly sheet.

• Images are organised into the twelve months of the year.
• Images for each month are outlined with a different colour theme, reflect the season and make clear which images belong to which month/group.
• Each month has x3 birthday images.
• Some months also have spares/blanks to create your own (matching) celebrations/events cards.

top half of sheet - the grey outline indicates that the date events occur/are celebrated varies each year. - The images in the grey boxes (top half of the sheet) are events where the date is not fixed but changes annually.

lower half of sheet - additional birthday images and an extended range of 'birthday image' colours if you would like to give your learners a choice of which colour themed image they would like for their birthday. - Learner's names are to be written (at the top) on the line provided of the 'birthday images' cards (only). All other image cards are complete and do not need amending.
