This resource is designed to help young learners visualise the year ahead by identifying key cultural, seasonal, and national events month by month. It guides parents and educators on when different annual events occur throughout the year, which events are 'fixed' by date and which vary.

How to use this resource?

Print out sheets to keep as a reference set to revisit throughout the year. Sheets could be stapled at one corner/edge to create a booklet' which learners could access month by month to see which events are 'coming up'.

Resource details

This resource has been designed to use year after year, time and time again.

Most celebrations come with a choice of two images. A more detailed 'scene' version showing the celebration in context, and a simplified 'icon' version for a more symbolic look. This allows you to choose the format that best suits your planning layout and the needs of your learners. Simply pick whichever style works best for your weekly sheet.

The first x12 pages are each for the different months of the year. Each sheet/month is colour-coded to make clear which images belong to which month and to reflect the season. The left side of the sheet shows the events for that month which are 'fixed' and the right side shows the events for that month which vary. For events such as 'Easter' which vary and is either in March or April, image cards for both months are included.

The last two pages are grey for those events where the date they occur/are celebrated varies each year and are not 'fixed'.
