The CVC word and picture cards included, are the second of four sets which together systematically cover the Phase 2 phonics sounds. This set focuses on the sounds m d g o c k.
The main purpose of the whole set is to help children master the essential skill of blending sounds together to read real words and understand their meaning through a fun, practical matching activity.
How to use it?
Preparation
Print cards onto sturdy card and cut out following the dotted lines.
Activity
Learners match the 'word' card to the 'picture' card. While suitable for independent revision, adult support is highly recommended initially. This allows new words (e.g., 'mog' (meaning 'a cat') to be introduced and discussed, effectively expanding vocabulary and challenging context understanding.
