This alphabet wheel has been designed to be an interactive way for learners to practise saying the sound of each letter of the alphabet. Learners turn the wheel, say what the picture is showing e.g. 'monkey' then the initial sound for that picture - 'mmm'. As they turn the wheel learners may be able to predict which sound will be next, learners could also turn the wheel anticlockwise and see if they can recall the alphabet sounds backwards!

This resource is a fun way for learners to practise recognising, naming and counting 2D shapes (up to 12). To be accurate with this activity learners need to be careful and systematic. The 2D shapes featured in this resource are semi circles, circles, triangles equilateral and right angled, squares, rectangles, pentagons and hexagons. Once learners have counted a group they record the total amount of each shape on the record sheet provided. Answers are included.

This workbook is predictable and easy to follow. Learners focus at one 2D shape at a time, looking at a circle, triangle, square, rectangle, pentagon and hexagon. For each shape learners look at the name of the shape, whether the sides are curved/straight, how many sides it has, whether the sides are equal in length and if it has corners (vertices) or not, how many?
